Filder

Filder, a NPC met in Grancel

Filder is an inhabitant of the city of Grancel.

He's one of the people working at the office of the Orbalship Corporation located on the royal city's airport grounds. The Orbalship Corporation is responsible for the passenger flights between the country's major cities and Filder's one of the people taking care of the company's administrative duties.

Trails in the Sky: First Chapter[]

Ever since the incident with the hijacked airliner, business has been tough for the company, but things have become even worse ever since the attack on Central Factory. Due to the army's security checks, not a single airliner has been on time and Filder's been the one who has been forced to deal with all the customers' complaints, while rueing the fact that there's noone in the army who will take HIS complaints.

Things get even worse when the army first starts scheduling patrol flights that interfere with planned flights and then proceeds to close the airport altogether. With most Liberlians outside Grancel still being unaware of the Queen's supposed illness and the birthday celebration usually drawing in a lot of visitors to the city, Filder mentions the army's actions have caused a large financial hit for the company.

Fortunately, the Intelligence Division's coup gets thwarted and air traffic is allowed to resume after Estelle and Joshua defeat Colonel Richard.

Filder mentions he saw a nun visiting mechanic Payton's house and assumes she's giving him moral support due to him being depressed over the airship Arseille, his workplace, being seized by the army, but the nun in question turns out to be Lieutenant Julia Schwarz in disguise who came to recruit Payton in order to get his help flying the Intelligence Division's airship and rescue the Queen from captivity.

Trails in the Sky: Second Chapter[]

Life in Grancel returns to normal after the Birthday Celebration, with the issues Filder and his colleague Sasha have to deal with becoming more everyday, such as the spat between the Calvardian and Erebonian embassador on the day Estelle returns to Liberl after her time at Le Locle.

After both embassadors leave, Filder voices his annoyance with both of them, not just because of the inconvenience for the other travellers, but also because the embassy personnel frequently bugs him with questions about the new airship engine that's going to be made available to both of Liberl's neighboring countries, which he's unable to answer, seeing that it's not the Orbalship Corporation but rather the Central Factory that developed the ground-breaking piece of technology and all his company has done is store it for the time being.
